In order to have the best user experience we have provided this page to help you troubleshoot any issues you might have. Podcast is a newer-ish concept that is gaining significant traction. However the technology is still catching up. We appreicate your patience while we figure out the best solution for every listener.

November 20th 2017 - Please note: We have seen significant traffic increase over the last few weeks. Streaming while possible is where you will encounter the most issues. We highly recommend utilizing an app and setting it to Auto-Download the latest episode.

The top 5 issues are:
1. Application you use to listen to the Podcast is out of date and needs to be updated.
2. Make sure you are downloading and not streaming the episode.
3. You have closed the application and reopened it to refresh it.
4. Check to see if you have enough storage to download the latest episode.
5. Go to http://www.speedtest.net to ensure you have a reliable connection.

I need some help with my Apple Podcast Application

How to make sure your application is up to date:

  1. Go to the App Store
  2. Search for the Podcast App
  3. If it says update then the app needs to be updated

How to Force Close your Podcast App:

  1. Double click the Home button to bring up the fast app switcher
  2. Navigate to the app screen you want to quit.
  3. Swipe up on the app card you wish to shut down by flicking it up and off the screen.

Cannot connect right now podcasts Error:

Check for Wi-Fi or Cellular Data issues. That might be happening because of Wi-Fi disconnecting automatically from the iOS device. Check in to Settings app > Wi-Fi & Search Wi-Fi Network & Enable.Podcasts won’t play radio or live StreamingPodcasts Doesn’t play Episode: or Popup in Episode is temporarily unavailable on iPhone, iPadForce close podcasts app switcher screen and re-launch podcasts ap on iPhone or iPad. You’re Saved and Added in playlist podcasts never remove on re-launch.

How do I set the podcast to Autodownload:

Change the download settings for a subscribed podcast. You can turn off automatic downloads or specify whether to download all unplayed episodes or only new episodes. Tap My Podcasts, tap a podcast, tap the Settings button, tap Download Episodes, then tap an option.
To change the default setting for all podcasts, go to Settings > Podcasts > Download Episodes.

When playing or streaming from the website, the podcast doesnt finish or loops.

Streaming is not the best option to listen to the podcast. Your connection is subject to internet traffic, bottlenecks and competing traffic. We highly recommend you download the file and play it locally or use an application that is listed above. The applications listed have a download manager to ensure the podcast makes it to your phone automatically without you having to do anything except listen!


We are working on fixing the streaming but until then please use an application.

How do I know the latest podcast episode is actually available?

There are two ways:

1. http://drewandmikepodcast.com and see if the latest podcast episode is listed at the top.

2. Go to http://drewandmikepodcast.com/feed/podcast


The link: http://drewandmikepodcast.com/feed/podcast  is where all the applications are made aware that the episode is posted and they should make it available in the application.


Applications look to that link to let you know that the latest episode is available and it should download it if you have enough space available. By setting your applpication of to auto-download the podcast, it can manage the download and keep trying if it gets disconnected. Then it can let you know when its ready so you can listen at your leisure.

Why does it take longer for me to see the latest episode than others?

How to Force Close your Podcast App:

There are many reasons this could be the case.
1. Your application might be "stuck", in which case be sure to close or "kill" it.
2. Sometimes it just needs to be forced to refresh. Most podcast applications can be refreshed by dragging down from the top, but your milage may very so you may want to Google it.
3. Some cellular providers and some Internet Service Providers just take longer. You are not doing anything wrong and the site is working fine. Its just a mystery of life. It will happen eventually.  
4. Sometimes your application doesnt have enough storage to be able to download the app. Check to see how much storage you have available and clear some space if it is less than 1GB.

When I stream the podcast, I can't pause or start from where I left off from?

Streaming the podcast is very problematic. We are a stateless site. That means we have no way to track where you left off unless you use an application on your desktop, laptop, tablet or phone. We are working on an audio player that allows pause, however we would have to do some major rewriting of the website to make that happen. Admittedly with over 95% of the users downloading and not streaming, it isnt very high on the priority list.
